Nowadays, many pets are fitted with a collar with a tag/transponder/chip. When these are read out, the finder finds out the pet's details that are important for pet identification. Reading these chips is done with a chip reader. 

This reader makes contact with your mobile devices. After the necessary data have been exchanged, the animal can be reunited with its rightful owner. Extremely handy for purposes such as animal ambulances, shelters, vets but also breeders of dogs, cats and horses!
